The Aviation-Event board will prepare in March in Tenerife for its big connectivity conference in June.

The island councillor for Territorial Planning, Historical Heritage and Tourism, José Gregorio Martín Plata, announced after the meeting held this Monday on the island with the CEO of the event, Marcel Riwalsky, that at the meeting, which will be attended by senior officials from airports, airlines and specialised aviation media, the agenda for the event, which will place the island at the epicentre of the world aviation sector, will be finalised.

The celebration of the Aviation Event 2021 Tenerife, on 11 June, was confirmed by the president of the Cabildo, Pedro Martín, and it is expected that some 200 industry leaders and institutional representatives will participate in the meeting, which will take place at the Gran Hotel Meliá Palacio de Isora.

The Councillor for Territorial Planning, Historical Heritage and Tourism of the Cabildo of Tenerife, José Gregorio Martín Plata, said today that the island will host the meeting of the Aviation-Event Board of Directors on 1 March, with the presence of senior officials from international airports, airlines and media specialising in connectivity, which will become the preamble to what will be the great event on communication and connectivity that will take place on 11 June at the Gran Hotel Meliá Palacio Isora.

Martín Plata, who insists on „the solidity of Tenerife as a destination to which flights and tourists will return when the circumstances of the pandemic allow it“, assures that in March „the aspects to be dealt with at the June event will be specified, with which we intend to place Tenerife at the epicentre of connectivity in a year in which its recovery will be vital for all tourist destinations, which will look to the island to find out, during the celebration of Aviation-Event 2021 Tenerife, how the sector will evolve in the following months“.

The island councillor responsible for tourism met this Monday, together with the CEO of Turismo de Tenerife, David Pérez, and the technical team of the public company responsible for the event, with the CEO of the event, Marcel Riwalsky, CEO of Aviation-Event, to begin preparations for the March meeting, which is expected to be attended by the more than twenty members of the council.

Aviation-Event 2021 Tenerife will be held on 11 June at the Gran Hotel Meliá Palacio de Isora, in Alcalá (Guía de Isora) and will be the first time that it will take place in a tourist destination, and not in a European capital, as has been the norm until now. Its celebration was confirmed by the president of the Cabildo of Tenerife, Pedro Martín, last December and it is expected that some 200 leaders of the aviation industry and representatives of institutions will share strategies on the evolution of the sector.

David Pérez explained that „this meeting is an excellent opportunity for the island to make contact and establish synergies with the airlines that connect with the destination or with possibilities or plans to do so, as well as with airports, European politicians, presidents of organisations such as IATA, etc., who are taking part in the event“.
